This was the night before last, when i dreamt vividly & remembered a lot when i awoke at 2.30am, but there's one dream that seemed to stand out in my memory, despite it's being the shortest. I was walking with Juliette, my french exchange student. We were walking along a grassy path in an otherwise empty landscape, it was sunny and pleasant. She seemed older and despite the barriers between us when she came over in october we were chatting (her talking english, me talking in french) easily and happily - she was even initiating conversation and seemed to be enjoying herself. As we walked around a bend, which was marked by an arch made of some sorts of plants, a small moth landed on my hand. Then it stung, and another landed on my hand, and another. I tried to bat them away before more landed but they kept stinging me.

Personal Meaning
This got me thinking over the next day. I suppose i'm worried about the french exachange, but maybe the point is that Juliette will be a bit older and in a foreign environment for me (-foreign country?) she will be happier & more comfortable in her familiar landscape. The bugs for me represent little things that are irritating and bothering me - literally 'bugging' me - like trying to find a new art project, the exchange, homework etc.

I dreamt i was watching a beautiful flamenco performance and then that there were flamenco classes being held in our school for my year. There was an orchestra in the middle of the hall and people were in pairs, doing steps that they had been shown around the edge of the hall. I rushed in late having had a music lesson, and i missed the first sequence. I complained to Carolann that i thought were weren't supposed to miss lessons for this - yet the whole year was here. Everyone was already in pairs and further on than me so it was hard for me to join, which irritated me because i was probably the biggest flamenco fan there. I went up to Alex and asked if she could quickly show me the first sequence & we had a laugh trying to do it, until Jo returned (she was Alex's former partner) and she was very angry that she had been replaced. I tried to explain that i was just trying to catch up, but she stormed off angrily.

Personal Meaning
Quite clearly this is an amalgamation of things on my mind yesterday. Carolann had told me about an upcoming flamenco show at the theatre my family might like to go to. Also i had been looking at some photos from the summer, which included me wearing my flamenco dress, and i was wishing i had sometime to wear it again. A while ago i found out that locally there are beginner flamenco classes (unfortunately on a night i can't do) and perhaps i was dreaming of that too.

Dance
To dream that you are dancing, signifies freedom from constraints and harmony/balance with yourself. You are working in cooperation with yourself. It also represents frivolity, happiness, gracefulness, sensuality and sexual desires. Alternatively, it may signify intimacy and a union of the masculine and feminine aspects of yourself.

The dream seemed negative in a way.. arguing & missing out.. or maybe it shows that i'm worried about missing out on things that i love while other people get on with it. Still, it's a new year and flamenco is something i love so it's probably a fairly positive dream... freedom from constraints is something i don't take for granted being in sixth form, and i do feel happy with myself even if worried about schoolwork. Perhaps dancing is just a reminder to enjoy myself and not become too serious about such things.

1) Preparing for Chloe's halloween storytelling evening (this saturday). I was still going to play clarinet but we were at my primary school and Chloe had also involved the help of some of the children. She'd made like a junk band with little kids playing random instruments.

2) I was with either beth or sarah. I borrowed a black pen, one with a fine nib like my dad's, but as i used i pressed too hard and the nib rubbed away and the pen was ruined. I felt bad, and also embarrassed that i'd ruined it.

3) On the A40 on the way to Cheltenham there's often a van selling fast food. In my dream, the van's owners were packing away all their stuff into big lorries, and were leaving for the winter (as if they lived there all the rest of the time or something..?).

I had sat down, in the Westwoods centre i think, in some rows of seats to watch something... a performance of some sort. There were people i knew sitting around me watching as well. It was a very special evening however, as the Queen was also coming to watch. She came in, said hello, and we sat together. For all the evening we talked, giggled and laughed together, she was really very friendly. Then she went out, it was the interval or she went to the loo or something, and when she returned she sat on the row behind me next to Beth. I wasn't quite sure what to think of this.

Queen
To see a queen in your dream, symbolizes intuition and personal growth. The queen is also a symbol for your mother.

QUEEN
- a female who is willing to assume control
- willing to assume authority - Ruling principle of emotion and love

Personal Meaning
I'm happy to think that this dream might refer to my feminine side/worries about being a strong woman, and that maybe i'm becoming more confident and strong within myself. It says 'personal growth', which is what i have been aiming for :D, and also about being willing to assume control.. hopefully that's me, on my own life. I'm not sure what Beth has to do with things... perhaps that i had that and then she did?
This seems such a wonderfully positive dream about being strong about myself, and being guided by emotions and love, as always ! :D

My family, Owly and me had stopped by, on a journey i think, at this restaurant-type place. We'd go and order, and buy our food, and I went and asked for a large fruit salad and a fruit smoothie. The guy took ages, i was the last person ordering from our family, he was being really chatty and flirty and stuff, asking what fruits i wanted and other things.. i just said i liked summer fruits, not wanting to choose them all individually. At long last he gave me my food, which for some reason also included a pizza with ham, and a wink, and left me alone so i could finally go and sit with my family/Owly (who had ordered a pizza and wondered what took me so long).

Fruit
To see fruit in your dream, signifies a period of growth, abundance and financial gain. Fruits generally represents lust and sexuality.
To dream that you buy or sell fruit, signifies much business but little profit in them.

FRUIT
- comforting experiences and thoughts - prosperity and great enjoyment
- sex and sensuality - deep and rich feelings of enjoyment
- the result of hard work

Pizza
To see or eat pizza in your dream, represents abundance, choices, and variety. It may also indicate that you are lacking or feeling deprived of something.

RESTAURANT
- a real talking point
- wondering what people will think about something - something everyone is talking about
- something you find interesting

Personal Meaning
Yay something positive! I think fruit and some of the other things here are about the results of revising and working hard over the last few years. It's taken a long time, and has been fun at some points (hence the long wait & the bubbly guy), but I got/am going to get my results in the end. And i'm glad i'm nearly there!

First a rather small dream... all it consisted of was my family and Christian and fudge the dog and we were all sitting together on the beach, chatting. Suddenly a huge wave came over and soaked us all, and i said how surprised i was that Fudge didn't freak out but carried on sitting there: normally she hates waves!

Then i went on to have a long dream which was a big adventure. I have forgotten most of it, but it was very long and it also featured Gandalf, for some reason.

Waves
To see clear, calm waves in your dream, signifies a calming of emotions. It may also signal an important decision to be made.
To hear waves crashing in your dream, indicates tenderness and relaxation. It also brings about feelings of sensuality and sexuality.
To dream that you are caught in a tidal wave, signifies the strength of your emotions, perhaps accompanied by tears that you are holding back in your waking life.
To see muddy, violent waves in your dream, signifies that a fatal error was made in an important decision.

Sea
To see the sea in your dream, represents your unconscious and your transition between your unconscious and conscious. It also often represents your emotions. The dream may also be a pun on your understanding and perception of a situation. "I see" or perhaps there is something you need to "see" more clearly. Alternatively, the dream may indicate a need to reassure yourself or offer reassurance to someone.

Dog
To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated. Alternatively, dogs may symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. Your own values and intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and succeed. Also consider common notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty ("man's best friend") and to be "treated like a dog".

Wizard
To see a wizard in your dream, suggests that you are trying to hone your skills and exercise your power.
WIZARD great and masterly skill

Personal Meaning
This dream doesn't seem to be about anything in particular... as i mentioned before, it was a very short dream. I think it simply refers to exams, being quite calm, hardworking, worried about some, staying mostly relaxed. I'm not entirely sure what the waves in the dream mean... but i said about Fudge being surprisingly relaxed to Christian, and that may have signified myself... for once i'm not stressed up about exams! Fudge perhaps also represents loyalty to Christian and the waves could possibly also refer to sensuality, as it says above.

I just remember being in my old house, on the top floor where my bedroom was, and being told something along the lines of that I can't do physics for A-level because i failed it or something. This also meant for some reason that i couldn't only do 3 subjects, and i was really upset because now i wasn't going to get very good grades in those and wouldn't be able to go to university to do what i wanted!

I had a series of different images of me being upset, one of me going into an ICT lesson, having been crying, one of me red-eyed and tearily turning away from my parents and locking myself in the bathroom, and finally (still in the dream) I woke up in the spare room of our old house. Christian came in and asked me if i was going to stop moping around now and get on with my life.

EXAM test of some quality in you

Dreammoods' 'Exam' meaning extract...
"These dreams usually have to do with your self-esteem and confidence or your lack of. You are worried that you are not making the grade and measuring up to other people's expectations of you. You may also experience the fear of not being accepted, not being prepared, or not being good enough. You feel nervous, insecure and tend to believe the worst about yourself.

These dreams also suggest that you may feel unprepared for a challenge. Rarely, are these dreams about the content of the test, but rather the process and how you are feeling during the exam taking process. Generally, you feel distressed and frustrated. These feelings may parallel how you are feeling in a particular challenge or situation in your waking life."

CRY
- emotional release
- openly state your frustrations

Crying
To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions.

Bed
To see your bed in your dream, represents you intimate self and discovery of your sexuality. If you are sleeping in your own bed, then it denotes security and restoration of your mind. You are looking for domestic bliss and peace. If you are waking up in different and/or unknown beds, then it represents the consequences of the decisions you have made.

Personal Meaning
The most obvious, and the most likely, cause for this dream is simply anxiety about exams. They start next monday, and now that it's friday they suddenly seem very close ! I have done quite a lot of revision, but i'm obviously worried that it's not enough, or that i won't perform to my ability, which is quite high and therefore another reason to be worried that i won't do amazingly. The expectations i don't want to let down, are in fact my own. Also, in my daily life i'm actually preventing myself from worrying about the exams because i know it won't help and i could easily get over-stressed if i did start worrying, so in my dreams it's a safe way to vent my worries, just as the 'crying' theme suggests!

Another side to the failing exam thing, is that it seems to reflect some of my feelings of low confidence & self-esteem. Recently i've been far more positive, making a real effort, and again, maybe in my dreams its just venting some of the things that i push away from my mind in the day. I do have a tendency to put myself down or 'believe the worst', but i'm certainly making a conscious effort to do so. And thus , perhaps , is why i woke up in my old house and , with Owly's help, decided to get on with life. I'm not entirely sure why it was my old house, but i suspect it referred to the 'old' and moving on from it. Je veux bien!

I dreamt that we were with the Bagnalls! David, Rachel, Susanna, Henry and me were all in our sitting room watching tv. It was the afternoon, and suddenly i realised that we hadn't returned the puppy that we hired from the store the previous day! It was supposed to have been returned in the morning, and we were probably going to get charged extra for keeping it an extra day. It was a tiny puppy, and very cute!
When we set out to the store however, it was absolutely pouring with rain.

Puppy
To see a puppy in your dream, symbolizes your playfulness and carefree nature. It also represents a blossoming friendship or that your friendships will grow stronger.

PUPPY
- a friendly and playful situation or friendship
- total devotion - doing everything asked of you
- loyal and committed

HIRE be just like someone else

RAIN
- feeling down hearted unhappy or uncertain about the future
- an unsettled outlook

Personal Meaning
What's interesting is that the puppy could signify my relationship with Christian: recently we've been more playful & happy, less stressed, and very strong together. However, i don't quite understand where the 'hire' part comes in. Being 'just like someone else' - well i suppose i'm quite a lot like Christian, perhaps like one of the Bagnalls... I've known them a long time, could it be referring to getting to know them better again? I have a feeling i may have dreamt about the Bagnalls as i found a very old photo recently with them in and had a good chuckle! And as for rain, well i think its just the part of me that's worried about revision and exams.

I don't remember that much about this dream now, except that there were dead zombie-like people in my house & garden. And for once, i wasn't really scared at all. My brother opened the shed and called me over, saying there were dead people inside, but when i came over i saw Beth and Ily in there. Beth and me laughed and messed around a bit. Then i went back to the patio with these other people, and we were supposed to eat this sand which would make us 'freeze' in time for the afternoon, i sort of had a flash-forward and saw it in my mind. We all started eating this sand, which tasted quite nice a bit like gritty sherbert, but it didn't seem to be doing anything.

Then, just before i woke up, i was dreaming about being in a shop like Next, and i was looking for trousers. I was trying to find a particular pair or 3/4 length ones, and in the process was looking at some nice dresses.

Zombie
To dream that you are a zombie, denotes that you are physically and/or emotionally detached from people and situations that are currently surrounding you. You are out of touch. Alternatively, it may indicate that you are feeling dead inside and are simply going through the motions of daily living.

ZOMBIE
- a lack of ability to concentrate due to tiredness or ill health
- mild numbing and stultifying boredom with ideas and behavior of others - uninspiring lifestyle
- mindless rubbish - mindless acceptance
- strange unknown lifeless thoughts within
- unable to think as an individual

Sand
To see sand in your dream, signifies a shift in perspective or a change in your attitude. Consider also the familiar phrase, "the sands of time" in which it may be suggesting that you are wasting your time or letting time pass you by.

TROUSER want to be seen to be in control

DRESS
- openly showing your femininity
- your image

Personal Meaning
I have a feeling that zombie maybe has another meaning in this case - perhaps saying that some of my school relationships are 'dead' and not worth going back to: "mild numbing and stultifying boredom with ideas and behavior of others". Sand seems to be connected with time just as it was in the dream. I have certainly been shifting my attitude recently from negative to positive, and feel i'm not letting time pass me by now.

As for dresses and trousers, again it may well refer to my image/self-image, and the want for control over my life. It probably also refers to the fact that i need some new trousers and a prom dress.

First i dreamt i was going/driving somewhere, and came across all these people wearing silly costumes and driving small childlike cars. One man had a little train with a carriage or something, no bigger than about three feet tall! It was some sort of a race.

Then I was dreaming that I was in my house, though had to go into our neighbour's house without them knowing for some reason. My parents were having a party in our back garden, my dad had had a bit to drink. I was in the garden when suddenly a bush in the neighbours garden spontaneously caught fire! I was really worried and trying to put it out, but my parents were saying to just leave it, and not to worry about it it'd be fine. I was saying that they wouldn't say that when our houses were burning down!

Finally i had one of those horrible dreams where you're in large public toilets and there are no cubicles/no privacy at all. I was sitting on the toilet and there were people, men & women, actually queueing up next to me!

Race Car
To see a race car in your dream, symbolizes your hard driving and headstrong attitudes. It may also reflect your competitive nature and the need to win. Alternatively, the symbol may be a pun for your issues with race and ethnicity

Toys
To see toys in your dream, symbolizes childhood, domestic joy and harmony. You may be searching for the comfort and security of home. It also represents playful attitudes and your childish ways.

To see others playing with toys, foretells of a happy and successful marriage.

TOY
- memories of childhood - a comforting reminder of life which was a lot less complicated
- playing with some thoughts - toying with an idea
- playing with someone - playing with your feelings
- youthful and spontaneous activities

TOILET
- a feeling of embarassment - a testing and frustrating moment - extreme worry - a bad feeling
- feelings of shame - admitting your errors

Bush
To see a bush in your dream, symbolizes feminine emotions and desires. It may also be a reference to the female genitalia.

BURNING
- a burning issue
- disagree with some way of thinking

Burning
To see something burning, indicates that you are experiencing some intense emotions and/or passionate sexual feelings. There is some situation or issue that you can no longer avoid and ignore. Alternatively, it may suggests that you need to take time off for yourself and relax.

Personal Meaning
For what I think is the third time recently, i dreamt again about fancy dress costumes! It's so weird, especially as this time it wasn't me it was adults behaving in this strange way! Maybe it's just about growing up or something - adults behaving in a childlike manner, saying that i need to let myself become more mature, maybe even simply being myself instead of all this dressing up.

Toilets i know are the typical signs of worrying & feelings of vulnerability and funnily i happened to have my English literature exam today ! I think i was just worrying about messing it up, looking stupid and not finishing or something, when i'm expected to do very well.

Finally, the 'burning bush' part is very interesting, especially as i hadn't expected it to refer to 'female genitalia' and sexual drive...

All I can remember is that i was in our primary school's playground, and i needed a frog for some reason. Charles went across the field and caught one from by the river, and i held onto it though it was quite hard because it would keep leaping out of our hands. I was also showing Christian how to cup his hands around it fully to stop it jumping out.

FROG
- a frenchman or gallic type behavior
- man to prince
- transformation in personality

Frog
To see a frog in your dream, represents a potential to change or to do the unexpected. The frog may be a prince in disguise. Alternatively, the frog may suggest uncleanness.

To see frogs leaping in your dream, may indicate your lack of commitment. You have the tendency to jump from one thing to another. Alternatively, it may suggest that you are taking major steps toward some goal.

To dream that you are catching a frog, signifies your carelessness concerning your health.

Personal Meaning
Both meanings are quite possible here. Firstly, it's good to see that it mentions transformations, taking steps forward towards a goal (GCSE's perchance?). The only thing i'm in danger of lack of commitment is with revision, which i have been struggling with. Also, i missed an ICT exam this morning because i forgot about it, perhaps it's also that?

I'm not sure about the health warnings... it's true that i have had quite disruptive health problems in the last couple of years, that have resurfaced recently, but it's not through carelessness. I wasn't the person who caught the frog, but why would my dream tell me that Charles is unclean? Haha! Well, perhaps it's the frog-prince thing... maybe saying that he's not as bad as i think? That Charles is actually a Frenchman?? It could be anything... Since Charles went to my primary school and that's where the dream was situated, so it's possibly telling me that his personality has changed a lot since then. As if i didn't know already...

I simply dreamt, very strangely, that I went to my Science lesson (with Dr Harrison) in fancy dress! I saw Angus on the way there, he was dressed as a lion or something like that, and when i got there i sat down by Liz who, like I, was dressed as an owl.

Owl
To see an owl in your dream, symbolizes wisdom, insight and virtue. The owl is also synonymous with death and darkness.

Costume
To dream that you are wearing a costume, signifies that you are putting on a facade toward others. Your true self is not being revealed and you are not being completely honest with people around you.

OWL
- a clear message from your subconscious - a need for wisdom
- wisdom and knowledge
- your interest in dreams analysis

COSTUME
- adopting an image for a particular purpose
- your overall image to the world

SCIENCE
- ordered
- rigorous intellectual methods
- scientific and intellectual rather than intuitive thoughts
- you need to think

Personal Meaning
There's lots here about the image i put out to the world, which is what i most often worry about it seems. And, certainly, i do need wisdom, or perhaps it's saying that that's the image i give to people. Owl could have another personal meaning... 'owly' a nickname for Christian. Perhaps signifying the wisdom that i've received from him... and 'science' showing that i need to consider and think about it.
